While driving my Coleman kt196 go kart it abruptly stopped moving but continues to run. Does not stall out even when gas is applied at high RPMs but it will not move whether it's a 50 lb child or 150 lb adult any suggestions on where a newbie to go karts could start looking on what could be the cause of this problem

Pictures of the CVT, chain, etc? Sprocket freewheeling on the axle? Lots of things could happen.

I will do that and see what I can see. We put a socket on the driven pull and it broke free and now everything moves. And it can be driven. So I think something is up with the torque convert.

I noticed a possible something in one of your photo's.
Look over your brake closely, make sure it isn't dragging.
The photo looks like something is rubbing on the brake disc farther towards center from the pad contact?

That sounds like the clutch (on the engine output shaft) got hung up with the sheaves spread wide open, wouldn't close up together and grab the belt to move the kart.
Whatever your monkeying with the driven did, forcing belt or whatever, it could have unstuck the clutch and it starting working again.
Maintenance = dirty word to some people. Still gotta do it, pay to play. Clean that clutch. Put the CVT cover on afterwards.
