I drive turbocharged V8's. No, I don't care about my carbon footprint as my vehicles will put a rather serious boot print on the rear ends of most street cars, and that's what's important to me. I like summer anyway.

I guess the recent above average snowfall in California is indicative of global warming?

Wood is actually a carbon neutral fuel. Unless someone walks everywhere they go, heats with wood that they cut by hand, and has no electricity, then I'm not interested in what they have to say about global warming.

Even driving lithium battery powered vehicles isn't helping anything. Still have 10+ liter diesel engines in the excavation equipment, then the refining process, exportation (rail cars, freight cargo ships), the car factories are not powered by wind, solar or really anything zero emission, mostly coal or natural gas.

It'll be at least another 50 years before we make the big switch to non burning fuel for power (wind, solar, nuclear, fusion). Sure we can slowly go towards it, but it takes a long time. Charging electric vehicles is still done by mostly coal burner plants. Our power grid needs to be upgraded to meet current demands and future demands, most of it is still 50 years old.

Hello Kartsmen, and minibikers. I will admit that I originally came here looking for full-blown alcoholics who were known to live dangerously. My goal was to find a few specimens for an extensive but rapid experiment on some with failing livers that might crash and die anyway.

I read and read, and have concluded that there are a few men here who I can possibly help with my experiments. Although after reading this thread, my primary candidate appears to be further along than I had first expected.
As I said previously I was looking for some men, but it now appears that I will have to ask a certain member to turn in his man card. As a real man cannot attend such a forum as this which deals with hot rodding small engines with no concern of their environmental output, and then also have a gripe against others whose lifestyles and driving choices cause as much airborne strife as the next guy.

Sir, I ask for your mancard, and further request that you reconcile your life and transportation needs to operating only foot or hand propelled vehicles. Walking is acceptable as well.
I further ask that you cease from entering any established mancave, nor attend any further monster truck rallies or races whatsoever involving engines.

Should you find your eyes turning yellow, and your pee red, you might be too far along for me to help.

Well France for example is almost 100% Nuclear Electric power.

The Problem is the EPA and Global Warming Panty Wastes being afraid to accept the Solutions. Solar and Wind aint EVER gonna cut it.
Besides that we are sitting on enough shale oil and Coal right here in our own country to power the U.S. For a couple hundred more years. but again the Panty waste G.W. supporters would rather buy oil from and enrich Arab nations that want to Kill us.
Luckily as of 11 hrs ago there is a new Sheriff in town and we may just become energy independent yet.

Yeah no doubt. There was talk 40 years ago about going to Thorium tractors because they are much much safer than Uranium or Plutonium. Plus it's much more widely available. But too many people don't want to go down that road or are too afraid of a disaster. Build the dang reactors away from the fault zones and build them idiot proof. We are not untrained people from the USSR, that are too arrogant and ignorant to run a facility safely. We'll see how the next four years pan out, I have decent hopes we can get back on our feet.

Feels like the French have more balls than we do, and they surrender the first chance they get. Too many people are too heavily opinionated and thick headed to see what to do with what we've got, and would rather complain than help fix the issue, or block any viable option we have.

I do think that doing solar and wind small scale (houses have their own) we could take a huge dent out of the whole thing. As well as getting the narrow minded to pull their heads out where the sun don't shine and let people build off the grid without restricting it, because the are not paying power companies for it. If anything l, off the grid saves us a ton of money and doesn't strain our aging utilities. Never underestimate the power of mass stupidity.

Problem with Solar, is it actually Costs like 60 THOUSAND dollars per house.
The only way people actually afford it is by State and Federal Grants. As well as Grants from the Power company (again Govt money).
So if a Taxpayer in MN wants to support the Sunny solar home in Ca???
You see the issue.

Even then the homeowner still pays 20 or 30 grand on a loan. Like a new car loan. $400 bucks a month for 6 years. Cheaper to just buy the power direct. It is like these fools with the Prius.

The biggest mistake this country ever made as far as power goes was letting the corporations squash Tesla's wyncliff tower project. He may have very well had the solution for free worldwide power figured out. Sadly though, Mr. Tesla is no longer with us to unlock the secrets of the universe, and I'm not sure there has ever been anyone born since with the intelligence to figure that one out.

When you buy from Wal-Mart or China or the US....you ARE paying someone else's way. YOUR MONEY is funding their sustenance and way of life.

Unless you completely avoid currency, deal directly on a barter person to person system, it's inevitable and unavoidable. What you are REALLY saying is you do not want to be CHARITABLE.

That's another can of worms. Why aid and abet the dregs of society? If I were rich, I would. If I was solvent, I might. I'm broke.....soooo..CAN'T AND WON'T!

The underlying message is this: When you don't help out your fellow man, there are a few problems. First, you have no idea WHAT put that man..( or woman) in that position.

Second: You don't know WHY that person needs or wants help.
