since we gotten this for my kiddo Xmas we have gone through 2belts so far. the belt was already on when we bought this new. It seem to do fine at first, I then to make it go faster I messed with the screw on the throttle and also the bolt under the gas pedal. would this be the cause for the belt to keep breaking or is it something else?

That sounds excessive. You could say the extra RPMs you gave it could wear the belts out faster, like always running your blender on maximum speed makes it wear out faster, but something sounds wrong.

I will back up Denny's advice. A genuine Comet belt is recommended. You'd think belts are all the same and manufacturers all have the same technology for making them durable, but nope.

In the meantime, post some pics of the engine and torque converter drive. Folks here have trained eyeballs and can spot defects over the interwebz. 👀

Here's one to assist the discussion:

....we have gone through 2belts so far.

Just for reference, how much has the kart been ridden since Christmas? Every day since then--Every sunny/dry day since then? How many hours do you reckon?

For all we know, the kart might be ridden just like the 24 hours of Le Mans.

Nevermind, I found some.

Man, thanks for doing that. I'm only one person and it feels like I'm a one legged man at a....
Im gonna place my bet on rusty pulley sheave surfaces.
That will eat Any belt in short order.

Well dang man, has there been enough time for it to rust or was the buggy purchased used? We may never know!
