Gk110 chain setup

I bought this cart recently and it was a real basket case. All of the electrical was hacked together and wouldn't run. I ripped out all the wiring to just the basics and got it to run. It actually runs really well.

But now I'm on to the chain setup and I can't find a good picture of what this is supposed to look like. I also can't figure out how to slide this bottom sprocket over to the right to align the chain. I see the two big locking nuts but I can't figure out what the correct setup is because if I take the right locking nut and loosen it which moves it to the right that doesn't do anything to lock my sprocket over there. I hope this is clear maybe it's not. Also is there supposed to be some type of chain tensioner because it's not there. If anybody has a picture of their setup that would help. And how on Earth do I move this bottom sprocket to the right. It needs to go over at least a half an inch1000004996.jpg

My guess is you loosen the first nut and back it off to the right , then you turn the second nut which more than likely is attached to the sprocket and as you turn the nut to the right the whole sprocket moves with it . Once you get it align then you move the single nut back against the sprocket/nut which then locks it in place. That would be the first thing I would try.

I thought the same thing. I move the nut on the right which is ridiculously tight which creates a gap between the two nuts

Then I can move the nut on the left towards the nut on the right but that just gives the sprocket left to right play. It doesn't make the sprocket stay in one place.

The nut on the left moves independently of the sprocket

I'm not sure how to insert the video into this forum thread

Looks to be a tapered axle.
You might be able to flip the sprocket around and it line up. To do that, your gonna have to drop the axle and remove a hub and what ever else is in the way.

Just saw the video.
That jam nuts will have to go off the passenger side of that axle.
The threads on the axle are probably rock dinged. You can take a small triangle file and reshape the threads or a specific thread file will work.

Or you can just lube and muscle it off.

Basically flip the sprocket hub around.

How wore is the sprocket and chain? You might want to either flip it on the hub so it keeps same rotational or if theres enough meat left run it backwards.

After thinking on it, I'm going to try to install the top sprocket further out away from the engine. I'll report back tomorrow.

Hell of a lot of work dicking with the axle. I would get me a 3/8" plate of steel and mount a plate on top of the existing motor mount plate and reposition the engine slot the holes so you have adjustment. Taking that axle apart is way too much work and what if you cannot get the sprocket lined up after you have done all that work, you are back to square one again.

I flipped the top sprocket so now it sits flush with the end of the splined shaft. The sprockets now line up perfectly.

I found a video of a new one at a dealer and how it was setup and it showed it that way so I just copied them.

Still don't have the chain roller
