I have a lt50 quad wheel. It has a puncture and I need to get the tire off the split rim. It won't budge, so how do I get it off?

set it in the hot sun for 4 hours...if you dont have that put a heat gun about 20 inches away from the tire and leave it on medium or low for 4 hours. makes the rubber softer and willl come off prett easy with oil as well.

rust usually. it may also have a lip around the inner bead to help hold the tire on at low pressure. those are a cock to get off! Usually you can get them off with 2 big screwdrivers and just work your way around it

This is what I did last night when I had to get my old tire and split rim apart: carefully stick a screwdriver (I actually used an old chisel) between the tire and rim, try to pry the tire away from the lip of the rim, repeat every 2-3 inches around the rim, eventually the rim half will slip right out.

I wouldn't use oil as it may damage the rubber, instead I'd use liquid soap or silicone spray if you really think you need a lubricant.

We use soapy water and gigantic screw drivers, if you have a safety bead get a bead breaker or use a vice on bench to push it off. If you have a discount tire close to your house they charge like 5 bucks to change a tire on atv stuff...

I TRYED SO MANY TIMES AND IT WAS FRUSTRATING!!!!!! then i noticed there was a hole in the tire so i ended up cutting the tire up and having to wire cut the bead. took about 15 mins per tire and you need two people for it.

Done that before on carter several times, a hooked carpet knife works well to cut the tire part, after that we just used a grinder.. thats in extremely rusted situations.

Then you need a bead breaking hammer, I just removed 33x12.5-15 monster truck tires with nothing but 2 prybars, a sledgehammer, and a bead breaker.
