Regarding the air/fuel screw, can someone please tell me, with certainty, which direction leans and which direction enriches? Thanks in advance.

If the screw is on the airbox (or intake) side of the venturi it is a "air screw" and opening it (unscrewing) adds air and leans the mix. When the screw is on the motor side it's a "fuel screw" and the opposite applies. Either way start it off at 1-1/2 turns out from LIGHTLY seated, raise the idle and turn the screw in and out one hour at a time (if imagining it like a clock face) and wait up to 30 seconds for the new setting to take affect. You're trying to find where it's running the highest and smoothest then drop the idle back down and keep playing with the screw until you've found the crispest throttle response. Keep in mind the mix screw may need to be adjusted a couple times a day if the tempurate has changed alot. If it's under 1/2 or over 2-1/2 for best setting you'll want to resize the pilot jet accordingly.
