This bike will not idle and is hard to start sometimes. If any has any suggestions on a problem or how to even identify the bike would be helpful. im pretty sure its a gemini becasue thats what it says on the seat and mabe its a sst from the gas tank emblem but other than that i got nothing.

i sprayed some carb and choke cleaner in the carb and it seems to start easier but when i put the throttle back just a little bit its like it goes wide open.

could it be getting to much gas? wen it sits overnight with gas in the tank it leaks and if look at the carb its like gas is going through it with the bike just sitting there. or maybe not enough air because the rubber boot that connects to the air filter is cracked and broken?

Also, you cant just clean a carb by spraying carb cleaner in it, you have to actually take it apart and clean the parts, blow out with compressed air, and maybe even soak the carb body in kerosene or some other type of carb cleaner.

i didnt think it need to be cleaned, we take the gas out when we store it and it still looks like its new, pretty much better than the carb i just got professionally cleaned on my go kart. any ideas how i could seal it without buying a new rubber piece?

Stock air filters are designed oversize to begin with.
Air filters are engineered so that they appear invisible to engine.
Our average engines have a CFM requirement of roughly 8-10 @ 3600 rpm.
If air filters were rated for the same CFM, they would clog up real fast.
EPA would come a-knockin'.

So your saying, that if say the crank case seal (on a 2 stroke) had a leak in it, the engine would not run lean at all? That makes no sense.

It's true that a 2 stroke with a leaking crankcase will soon turn to stone.
Original post mentioned that the connection between carb and air filter was leaking. This does not affect crankcase pressure, it's just allowing unfiltered air to enter carb. Pressures occur only in crankcase, not before.
If everything else is correct, engine should run no differently with or without air filter.
If it does, it's time to change the filter.

Ok, i guess i ASSumed that now matter where the leak it would do the same, i guess that does make sense though.

Everyone seems to think 2 strokes have no torque...I'm planning on a sled engine sometime in the near future once i move into my new house.
