nice lil kart - but we can't see your clutch, axle, sprockets, or potential places to mount the jackshaft...

also, does that red metal arm thing behind your head ever hurt you? i'd hit it with a hacksaw and make it go away before you really get hurt!

No it's in parts and pieces right now. I will get some pics of my clutch and all later in the week. I got the frame for free from someone my dad works with and he threw in the red piece, he wanted them gone. i almost got a $40 tc but it was a 3/4 =(

Over all the 72t sprocket would be easier right? If so I'm just gonna go with that.

A 72T sprocket is only going to give you a ratio of 6:1. This is still a little high with your 18" tyres. You are basically on the borderline of frying your clutch. Go for at least 7:1. This might mean a jackshaft

we finally got this guy settled... let's not start this again! lol. his kart is pretty small and light looking. he weighs 175... i think he should be alright. it seems like he wants to keep it simple and have us do all the work for him. lol.

I can't find a 10t with a 1in bore anywhere. Would i go with a 12?

the shaft on your motor is a 1" bore? shoot... clutches for that are gonna be expensive... looking at BMIkarts.com they go for like $95 plus shipping...

i'll sell you a Comet 30 torque converter setup for $100 including shipping. has a homemade mounting plate on it (with mini jackshaft welded on), but it's got a 1" bore driver, which is what you need. the belt still has some miles left in it. send me a PM if you're interested. that'll get you torque AND speed.

yes. the comet 30 has a continuously varying gear ratio. starts with low for torque, and as you speed up it changes the ratio for more speed. the 60 tooth should be fine.
