i have a different type of project started but need help or info on gearing ratio what is the formula or link to help me find gearing ratios

Very helpful:thumbsup:great compilation of links / threads / posts I liked the go kart guru's calculator etc....hours of fun! The only problem is the wife and kids want more action out of me:toetap05: "when are we making one dad":toetap05::toetap05::oops:

just remember that what that just because that calculator says it can do that doesnt mean it will

also remember that the calculator doesnt take into account drag or weight or any real life forses

:iagree: some what, but for the new kart builder a great place to start! Weight (mass) is there and so is co-eff of friction etc., I plugged in my real world (measured) figures of my kart and it was close enough..I still think it is a very good start point for a DIY Kart newbie, working on the DIY K.I.S.S building principles:thumbsup:

What was that saying about a lost traveller asking the old man for directions?? when asked he said...."If i were going there I wouldn't have started from here!" :D
