i like that comet gearbox, its rated for 16hp and its made for the comet 40 series TC, but its like 400 bucks and i didnt even spend that much on an engine! seem like a lot of money for just forward and reverse!, also it says it cannot have more than 4000 RPM so that mean i would have to leave my go kart governed at 3600 RPM

it says it needs mounted on a slotted plate also.....along with the motor on another slotted plate. Lots of adjustments in chain/motor/belts/tranny to get right before you even have a working kart. Not worth the 400 if you ask me.

Um it would take very minor mods to make it fit for me! My engine and my jackshaft are already slotted so that just has to be moved to fit the gearbox! I would take all of maybe an hour to make it work!

hey didnt we tell you before that you should have got a motorcycle or atv engine so you would have foward gears neutral and reverse... hmmmmm wow so we werent just jabbering on about bike/ atv engines

Round or square headlights? I had a 78 with a 351 Windsor. Great truck. My first vehical was a 1969 Ford Ranger F-100 with a 302. Always wanted to get another to restore it. Glad to see another Ford guy.

ya im an apprentice mechanic and i dont know anything? only rebuilt 3 or 4 cars with people i know not to mention 1 with my dad, done 10 or more engine swaps and im only 17 and i dont know anything? hmm beg to differ there dude
also i made this thread because i was wondering if anyone of you guys had seen a gearbox for what im looking for that isnt expensive as hell
