Gearbox

I've been confused lately on a 49cc engine that I'm going to buy on eBay and It had something called a gearbox transmition and I was wondering what does it do?
Does it make a chain drive to belt?
Give it more speed?
Or is it just a price of crap metal?

What part of 'transmission" is confusing? A transmission, or more properly "multiple speed transmission" indicates that it has multiple gear ratios to choose from, either selected automatically (as in "automatic transmission") or manually, (as in "manual" or "standard transmission".

If this is not the case, the seller is either huffing glue, or chinese.

How 'bout you link the ad here, and we'll figure it out...
