Gas tank location?

Does the Gas tank have to be above the carb? I'd like to relocate my tank but not sure if it is gravity fed.

If the carb is gravity feed yes. If its a diaphram type pump then no. If the stock tank position is above the carb I'd say its gravity fed.

well you dont necassarily need to keep it gravity feed though. depends on the carb type. you could at a mikuni or walboro vacuum fuel pump. they are like $20 and runs best off the valve cover or you could use the intake or crank case for a vacuum pulse

A carb desihned for gravity feed wont work with a fuel pump 95% of the time. The needle and seat is too large and results in a overflowing carb. In a Mikuni carb a 1.2-1.7 needle and seat is desihned for a fuel pump setup and is good to 50HP and a 2.0-3.0 larger and its desihned for a fuel pump.
