With my monstermower completed I now am embarking on an electric project. these are the parts I have i bought long time ago but haven't put to use.

might work for 1 motor

So I will be using lawn tractor tires probably for the back that are just as tall as fronts pictured. Im too poor atm to buy much so I am hoping to atleast be able to use motors. two questions though... 1. How and can I use 2 motors (1 on each rear wheel) do I use 2 controllers with same throttle imput, or 1 big controller for both motors. 2. would if 2 motor option is doable, with tires that big push mu 230lb arse around to say 20mph max.

Another tire option I could go are 2 10' tall lawntractor tires for back and dolly/handcart 8" ? for front.

I don't know much about the electric stuff, but I will caution you on the dolly/handcart wheels. Many of them are not up to the rigors of karting. Weak hubs, and uber-cheezy bearings are things to look out for.

Also- why not showcase your kart in the Photo Gallery and Projects section? We'd love to see it!

The road = the man!

That link is perfect, it answers alot of questions thank you! if 24v motors power them 26" bike tires my 36v motors should be just fine for tires half that size.

Toystory, thank yea I know dolly tires are crap, made of tinfoil i swear. But the speeds this will be going they will be ok for now untill I see how fast this this kart will go, then I will upgrade.

Will post pictures of progress for sure. One other question though. I'm not racing this project or using it for long durations. So could I get away with over volting the motors with 48v controller and 4 batt's, or should I stick with 36v and only 3 batt's to keep weight down. will be using 12v deepcycle batteries.

oh yea, that controller I pictured, I got it from ebay along time ago, I dont know its spec's anymore other then its 36v. How many amps its rated for I dont know. Shoot another thing lol, for throttle is there a certain size of potentiometer I need ?

for that amount of power i would really suggest using a motorcycle engine

Alteran, please don't hijack Draxxe's thread. Ask these questions in the thread that you have already started.

Draxxe, why don't you post some pics of your finished mower kart in the thread that you started for it. I thought that build had died a horrible death because there weren't any updates anymore
