Can always improvise. Put something over the hole and righten the gas cap over it. Be careful though if you do might melt or something like that if it contacts gas.

Yeah, I don't get it. Cap is like new. Tried a briggs push mower cap that I had and it was even worse. I ended up pumping out half of the tank and with a lower level it was fine. Not really sure anything will help it. I don't get it.
