That thing sold for 3,000 bucks. Nice tidy profit for someone who had it in storage or as a collector’s item or whatever. Probably bought it for $200...

I love those diamonds in the rough. I try to keep my eye out for anything when I hit a garage sale or something. Iv'e been lucky with a few, not karts, but old recurve bows, nintendo games, etc.........

Also new here! Back in 1990/91, my sister came and got me from class and said we had to go to the store to pick up a prize we won in a raffle. We were thinking it was an RC car. Nope! It was a FunderKart, St. Ives Swiss Formula branded little Indy car. I took it from my parents' house about 4 years ago with hopes of restoring it. Thing started right up with 20 year old gas! Wish I had a picture of it in its original state. Trying to restore it with my kids, but everything I'm reading says . . . "good luck." Currently struggling to get the centrifugal clutch (I'm told) off.

There is living proof to use ethanol free gas, pure gas last longer. As for the clutch, it could be a Max-Torque or a Noram. We didn't use set screws but it could rust on to the crank over that length of time. Just take off the bolt and washer on the end of the crank and give it shot of WD-40 or liquid wrench and let it sit overnight and then put a screw driver in the back against the hub of the clutch and try prying it off.

Sounds good. I’ll keep working on it. Surprised the cog wheel(?) and belt are in such good shape after all these years. Thanks for the clutch info.
