Came across a "Fun Karts" nascar bodied parade kart. It has/ had a belt drive system using a centrifugal clutch on the motor and a cogged sheeve/pully on the tire. While it is mostly complete, its missing the belt and the pulley is cracked missing chunks. Where can I find replacements?
thanks in advance

It might be hard matching up what you have now. It might be easier going chain drive.

Post some pics so that we can see if we can help you out finding replacement parts. You can look at bmikarts, mfgsupply, gokartgalaxy etc as well

Fun karts sprocket and belt

Here is a quick shot of the sprocket area. After searching for the sprocket, the gokart type and the manufacturer
to no avail, I figured that I was on my own for a fix. Just thought
I would check here ..

Can you post a picture of the sprocket where it attaches to the wheel?
We can guide you on sprocket selection, clutch and chain. Hopefully, this can all happen with the use of a few wrenches.

Hub interface surface

Here is the mounting surface of the pulley / brake assy.
Since the pulley was broken, I have already turned the
damaged part off the hub and plan to use a blank
Sprocket (not to exceed 9") drilled to match the existing drum
Bolt pattern with spacers to align it to the clutch.
Was hoping to find a replacement for a direct
swap but....

I doubt you will find a replacement sprocket like that, belt might be an automotive type.
I think the best thing would convert to a conventual chain clutch and sprocket.
Usually about 12t clutch an a 72t on the rear. Under a $100 most likely, and a few hours work.

those look to match your belt (or in your case more important.. your clutch ;))
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Race-Kart-Direct-Belt-Drive-Sprockets-/151173408060

But I doubt you can simply mount them to your hub.
or you have a hub made for you (to match your brake drum etc...

but uhm...
chain and sprockets !

Sorry, you might find a replacement part sometime on ebay or CL maybe,
but since it's plastic I think it'll be not as durable as a chain will be ;)

Ah, now you're cruisin', that's exactly what you need to do...

Based on your terminology, I'm guessing you're not a complete noob so, you already know a stack of washers isn't a spacer, right?

Well 2 out of 3 isn't too bad. (Time and patience..)
Most of these projects have parts from the
scrap bin. Like to see what I can do on
the cheap.
I will post a finished pic
Thanks again
