Full time Chain Cleaner

Any one else here a little particular about chains?
I have been stranded because of chains before, so there for I try inspect and to properly care for my chains.

Now a-days I even use jb weld on the master link clip.

A friend of mine fabbed up an automatic chain oiling system - it did work but there was not really a need for it.

I am more fond of a clean and oiled chain.
I am curious if any of you ever made a chain cleaner system or your thoughts on it.

Maybe I might work on something like that.

W hat I do is take the chain off nail it to a 2x4 then go after it with a wire wheel on a drill. We ride in out dirt property in a ton of dust. Oiling the chain attracts dirt. I got a hint here and melted a candle in an old pot on the stove and left the chain in the liquid wax. the wax seems to attract less (a lot less) dust than oil.

I have heard of that trick a few times. Maybe I should try it. I do use bench grinder with wire wheel.

I just oil them every other time I go out to play. I don't use master links. And I run the crap out of them till they break. Then I make a new chain.......

Here is the funny story on that trick: The first time I did it was a night. and I just left the chain in the wax and pot to cool. The next day my 13yr old wanted her chain. I told her turn on the stove and melt the wax a little and get your chain. So she did, and after the wax was liquid and she got her chain, then... she went ahead and..... Dumped the liquid wax down the kitchen sink
needless to say the Wife was pissed

that chain cleaner thing seems kinda gimmicky

these have existed for a long time, and work fine..

the thing with the wire wheel thing is, if you use an o-ring chain. RIP o-ring chain?

That blue one looks like it could be easily mounted as a "full time chain cleaner" hhmmm
