So i put together this rendering of the design i think im going to go with. Its a single seater buggy, the front will use control arms off of a quad, and the rear swingarm will be built by me. I have never fabricated my own kart so id like some of you more experienced designers to look it over and give me any suggestions/critisism's you have. Also id appreciate some advice of tube dimensions, i was thinking 1.5" 1/8 wall square but now im thinking that might be overkill. Thanks!

Wow that's some fancy computer hacker stuff there, looks real boxy

I do see a problem with the engine were it's mounted with delivering power to the tires...

Are you any good at welding, if not screw it...

Its a very basic render, i will draw up much more detailed designs once i get further along. And jackshafts will be used for the chain.

Im in Belleville, i dont like giving out my city, especially when its not necessary.

x2 on the engine placement; connecting a sprung axle to an unsprung engine would definitely require a jackshaft, not to mention it would raise the CoG (centre of gravity), creating handling issues; the engine would be better positioned on the swing arm assembly...

If I were going to try this I'd get a Polaris 4 wheeler with the independent rear suspension and use that as well as the front a arms. Use the gear box also it would have hi-low and a reverse gear.

Just my 2 cents.

I was also thinking about that, the reason i was planning on using a swingarm is that it, along with the front suspension would be coming off of a chinese quad i already have. Minimising cost
