I am rebuilding a Roketa kart and in the process, this fuel switch broke. I think I have found the correct one online, but I am wondering if this is something I can find locally.

Is this something where another part will work? I would really rather buy it locally if I can.

You can see in the second and thrid pictures the little 'nipple' that broke off in the hose going to the carb.

You could conceiveably pop into a good hardware or auto parts store and replace it with a selection of fittings. Ultimately, it would probably cost more, though. A valve, a filter, and a couple of fittings.

Honestly, I'm not even really sure of it's function other than as a shut-off....emergency or security deal.

Does it actually regulate the amount of fuel going to the carb?

You could buy a tap, tap it, and put a miniscule barb in it. But the tap would cost more than a new valve probably.

Two problems with that. The tank material is pretty thin, and tapping it wouldn't give you but a single thread. I have solved this in the past by epoxying the fitting in. Second , it still doesn't net you a valve or filter. Doable, yes. But again, probably not the most cost effective solution.

Well u could find a fitting that screws into the current location that has a barb on it

Then a standard fuel tap and inline filter that would be alot better than the current filter

But as was already said its just not worth it

Those things are really common on chinese atv's, scooters, and karts - and plenty common on evilbay and other internet stores.

Best bet for finding one locally is to try a Japanese motorcycle / atv store. Downside to that is that if they have one, you'll prolly pay the Honda price...
