fuel leaking please help

i finally got the engine started. but i notice a fuel leak and its coming out of some hole from under the carburator could someone please help me and let me know why its doing this. this is the second time the engine is started and notice the leak. thank you

It's difficult to get perspective when it's up close like that but, either your bowl is leaking or, more likely, it overflow. Double check your needle is seating properly &/or adjust the float

I'll check it this weekend. I forgot to mention I replaced the fuel line with one of the clear ones will that cause anything like this to happen.

While you're in there, make sure the bowl is seated correctly, the bowl gasket is in good shape, and the retainer bolt and gasket check out, too.

Edit, re: fuel line- make sure line is sized correctly for fittings, and line clamps are tight.

There is no fuel leaking from that fuel line, where could I get a rebuilt kit for the carb. It's a grey hound 11hp.

True, I'm gonna order a aftermarket air filter and adapter. Since ill be taken things apart ill do a little upgrade to it. Thanks guys

Did u check ur idle screw?? U may want to try closing it then opening a turn at a time until it stops ...just my 2¢

What? The idle screw meters the flow of a/f mixture through the idle circuit. It couldn't have anything to do with a fuel leak.

It's probably just some gunk on the needle/seat. Remove bowl, float, and needle, spray off needle and seat with carb cleaner, and reassemble.

Is it common for a new engine to have this issues.

Fairly. Carb problems can be expected if an engine sits for an extended period.

The float may be stuck. A lot of times you can tap on the bowl with a screwdriver handle and it will free up. That's the first thing I try when I have a bowl stuck. If that doesn't fix it I then pull the bowl off.

this engine has been sitting for a while. well hopefully its dirty. ill be taking it apart this weekend if i get time. or as soon as the air filter gets here. thank you guys

I find it very rare to have a float stuck in the down (inlet open) position. More often than not, it's gunk/varnish/particulate caught up in there. Had a small particle cause flooding on my Kids' kart recently. It happens.
