Most carburetors are gravity feed. How does the fuel get to the carb when the tank is mounted under the steering wheel?

Sorry....I am new to go karts.

They typically have a fuel pump... A mechanical vacuum powered pump(usually tapped from the crankcase ohv cover or top of block)...

Oh... Hello and welcome...

Welcome Laura!

Well usually the vacuum signal comes from the carb manifold ;)
it's the not so usual industrials that take the valve cover/crankcase route.

but either way, a pulse pump is what you need.

Make sure your carb doesn't have one built in already.
(proper race karts usually have the pump in the carb body)

Best: show us a pic of what you got and we can tell you what you need (and how to install it)
