Hi Guys, this is my first post. Thanks in advance for helping!

I'm upgrading the front wheels.
I'm going to buy these hubs https://www.bmikarts.com/4-x-4-Galvanized-Wheel-Hub-Front-with-58-Bearing-_p_2553.html

And I am wondering what the widest wheels I can get for front that won't hit the spindles.
Would 6.5 be too wide?

I read something that golf cart wheels that are 8.5 will hit spindles

What do you guys think.. Thank you

Or if there is a different set of hubs that you guys recommend that's cool too. I don't necessarily need huge tires in front just want to get the fronts on real hubs so they don't break like the wheelbarrow tires ;)

Those are good hubs with the advantage of being able to change tires easily. They should serve you well. As for wheel width recommendations you have the kart in front of you we don’t you can measure we can’t. Get the hubs on and mounted first then mock up some templates and see what fits.

Yeah I hear ya on templates... I was just wondering if anyone had a quick reference.
Do you happen to have a quick reference of any wheels with rims that will bolt right up to those hubs and that are affordable, I think I can get away with at least 5 wide. Thanks in advance

Those hubs' bearings stick out 1" past the "center" plate on the bolt side (2" on the inside), and will also need enough spindle outside for the axle nut. The new rims you get will require figuring for their centerline offset (if any) in figuring where the tires would hit at max steering lock-to-lock. A template like Denny recommended would help, a round one cut out of cardboard, same outside diameter as the O.D. of the tires you want. Figure for width after setting that up.

Thank you guys!
I wish I had some extra wheels sitting around to play around with the sizes..
Where is the most affordable option for tires.. seems like tractor supply has a lot but they are top dollar.. and then I was thinking these cheepy rims from lowes may work
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Hi-Run-8X3...3FoNw3iV3TS1_Bn-AbkaAmz-EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds but not sure until I get the hubs and make template
Another question which hubs would work better.. the ones I listed above or these?
Thanks in advance! https://www.bmikarts.com/Galvanized...lIyUmHRGCEvFTPidLT_U8PbRiy420hUYaAtg6EALw_wcB

The Lowe's rims don't specify what the bolt circle measurement is, so if you can't measure for it yourself, don't waste time, money, shipping, and whatever hair you can pull out in frustration.
The BMI hubs have a 2.8125" bolt circle for a 5/8" spindle. If you use them, pay the extra $1 each for both of the hardware options, then you can decide which you like better on whatever rims you use that have the 2.8125" bolt circle.
The hubs you linked on post #1 were on a 4" bolt circle for a 5/8" spindle, and that bolt circle pattern (4 lugs on 4" bolt circle) (4 x 4) happens to be my favorite. Here's some rims with various widths and the 4 x 4 bolt circle, and are 8" like the golf cart rims Denny mentioned............
8" x 3-3/4" Rim (4 on 4) | BMI Karts And Parts ............. 8" x 5-3/8" Rim (4 on 4) | BMI Karts And Parts ........... 8" x 7" Rim (4 on 4) | K260080 | R-858-4 | BMI Karts And Parts . Of course, if you're willing to drop to 6" rims, you can have the split rims that I love because they don't require a tire changing unit to change tires.
NOTE: I've bought (split) 6" front rims with bearings (3/4" for my choice) already in them, and innertubes (with L-shaped stems), no hubs or bearings to buy at all. $40.46 each, total, all in, these rims right here............ AZ1035 - 6" Steel Wheel, 3-1/4" wide, 3/4" ID Bearing | Go Kart & Mini Bike Parts | MFG Supply ............. and I used these tires on them............ 8-343 - 4.10 X 3.50 X 6 Stud Tire 2 Ply Tube Type | Go Kart & Mini Bike Parts | MFG Supply .............and these innertubes 8-354 - 410 X 350 X 6 Tube L-Shaped Valve Stem | Go Kart & Mini Bike Parts | MFG SupplyBTW: If you don't mind 1-piece tubeless rims that require hubs and bearings, here's the cheapest tool I know of that will change tires from 4" - 12"............Mini-Tire Changer (harborfreight.com).
