I came across one of those Chinese made electric scooter.
This one has a 24V 250W MY-1016 motor & is branded as a Freedom Scooter.
It looks like it just needs cleaned up, some air in the tires, a little lube on the chain & fresh batteries. :cheers2:

I even got my son Winston to help clean 'er up. :2guns:

Electric scooters are fun, but not fun enough for me anymore. :cornut:

Yup, it's just a "stepping stone"
...for training purposes

He wants to ride El Mini :smiley_omg:
...but, needs to "polish his skills" a little bit first

El Mini is quite powerful :2guns:
…& he ain't ready yet :ack2:
...or I ain't ready yet

After Winston got 'er all washed/polished up, we
...air'ed up the tires
...lubed up the chain
…looked over the wiring
...checked the fuse
…& installed (2) new 12V 12AH SLA batteries (from Mighty Max) :cheers2:

Next we switched 'er on & did a systems check

The dash lights up (power "on" indicator light is on & all (4) lights of the battery indicator are lit up)
...the head light works/is on
...both turn signals work
...the brake light works
…& the horn too

Then, I tipped 'er up (the rear wheel was "up" off of the ground)
…& gave the throttle a twist (to check-n-see if the motor & drive train were operational)

Yup, all systems seem functional. :cheers2:

* He is "so ready" for a test ride :wai:

** I think these came (from the factory) with a key switch
…& this "push button" on/off switch is a replacement

Here is a video of us workin' on this project together
(I really enjoyed it, hopefully he starts gettin' into this stuff more)
