Freebie of the week, honda H5518 garden tractor

Picked this thing up for free today, pretty slick machine. Its relatively small, slightly larger than a JD318. VERY well built

it has a liquid cooled, two cylinder OHC Honda engine, rated at 18hp
selectable 4WD AND 4WS
Front and rear PTO, independent of each other.
Differential lock
H/L range transmission, 4spd (8)
Hydraulic lift

It fired right up with a fresh battery, needs a good carb clean. Tires don't hold air. It came with no attachments, and unfortunately they are extremely hard to find. Used mower decks are going for 7-800 alone, and the loader, rototiller, and snowblower attachments are all but non-existent.

My plans are too build a cat 0 or cat 1 3pt hitch for the rear (was an option, but again non-existent). and potentially a loader as well.

The engine is pretty neat, basically a carbureted, scaled down car engine, Very reliable, smooth running machines. Honda only produced this model for 5 years, i guess the price was too high and sales never took off.

Im actually still a moderator here, although i havent been active for years. I dont see any need to move it, while it was a good deal, it wasnt found online. It is certainly off topic.

As far as racing mower, no way man. I have two racing mowers, this thing is going to be a little workhorse.

It is weird looking! As far as price, im sure your close. The 2wd little brother was over 5, couldnt find msrp on this thing though.

So according to tractordata (http://www.tractordata.com/lawn-tractors/000/6/6/668-honda-h5518.html) these did come with a Cat 0 3pt hitch as an option. If you need to make a new one, it wouldn't be terrible to do. Brand new looks to be about $5400 from 1991-1999.
