The carb is facing to the rear axle.. so is the muffler... and back fires are out the exhaust... and stock exhaust no flames are gona be leaving that thing...

also i agree with dante i would go hydrolic brake set up

I was just mentioning backfires because a friend of mine had a dirtbike engine on a kart with the gas tank behind the unfiltered carb and it backfired out the carb and melted part of the dirtbike gas tank sitting there. It could've been ugly.

Yeah I need that 90* and some line but I need it in metric because my kart is from italy I guess. So I need a metric master cylinder and fittings.

I found one site where I can get them, of course the one I need is around 7 dollars.... I REALLY need to find a master for this thing, I took it to my friends house today who lives on a non-busy street and I really let this thing rip! I tuned the carb and I think its pretty decently fast for what it is, I can spin tires really easy.

That is a great looking kart. I have a kart suitable for a 5 HP Briggs engine, the main problem is that is missing the left and right steering supports :worried2: (My kart is also a european kart like the Birel) My friend has the left and right supports that I need, but I need to find a "SHOP" that works with "Metric" tubing so they can fabricate an exact copy of them. And after that I will return the steering supports to my friend. The kart has been abandon for several several years, If you can give me some information on where or who might be able to help me out I will be very grateful  Thanks in advance.

P.S. I am in the US in the state of Maryland.:wai:

Superstock,
We'll try to help you out but first you really should start your own thread and include pics of your friends steering support and your karts frame/steering column where the support will need to mount. You may not absolutely need metric sized tubing, but if you do you could probably order some on-line and then have most any competent metal fabricator in your town build it.

Cool

Yeah they're great karts. They made a few different variations of that model over the years but they were all cool. Some of the older ones might not be competitive raced against newer models on a tough racekart track, but they'd all be awesome for just playing around and having fun on parking lots and stuff.

Just make sure its not all bent up or ever had any major frame damage/repairs, and also look at the bottom closely to make sure it hasn't been scraping against the track and wore the frame rails thin into a D-shape. Any of these problems could effect the way the frame was designed to flex, screwing up the karts handling and turning ability.

Race kart frames that have had a lot of hard racing (exspecialy by a heavy driver) develop whats known as being Flexed-out. These frames would still be fine for riding around having fun, but would never handle as good as they did when new...

You'll find Tons of Bullet info in this search link: http://www.google.com/search?source...=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=4285b1562c76fb8e

Thanks man I really appreciate the response. I got it yesterday it is in real good shape. The brakes actually work on this one and its not all rusty. Its even still safety wired together. I couldn't find to much about it so maybe some pictures will help.
