Ok have a question .... My dad just brought home a kart for my boys it's a single seat fox lxt and it has a 6 horse Tecumseh engine with a centrifugal clutch , is this setup right or should it have a jack shaft and torque converter setup? It wants to smoke the clutch now even with a brand new one put on , I'm unsure of the gearing right now but it does have 18" tires in the rear any help is appreciated

It's a 55 tooth sprocket on the axle a ten tooth on the clutch and as far as the chain size I don't know the pitch and all that stuff it's just a bigger chain about like on a Yerf dog 3203

That should probably have a 30 series Comet on it. I'm guessing it has 18x9.5 rear tires if its a single seater. Those are too big for a centrifugal clutch. Is the motor mounted right to the frame or does it still have the old jackshaft plate attached?
