Unless you're prepared to do a lot of wrenching, don't buy it. Don't lose sight of the fact that you aready have a lot on your plate with regards to adapting a bike engine to your kart. Plenty of headscratching, measuring, welding, fabricating, re-measuring, hacking apart and re-fabricating, tinkering, and troubleshooting ahead of you already. Do you really want to add engine problems to the list?
Be patient, and wait for a good deal on a running engine to come along. Heck- I recently was shopping for a chassis, and got a running 140cc pitbike engine in the deal. You never know what you'll find!
