I use a steel crucible I made with some sheet metal and some round tubing. and I normally use a coal forge but I have use a propane forge once. and I mostly cast aluminum but have melted lead down to make an aluminum and lead alloy.

cool, im gonna be doing a lot more aluminum can melting with my 'forge', because I bought a mini lathe and I'm gonna buy a mini mill. I cant wait to make a gun out of melted aluminum cans lol

that's cool. I also forgot to say that I have casted into both steel and sand molds. the steel nomaly has a better result.

nice, I mostly use sand because I'm just making aluminum ingots that will be milled.

I used a mold that my dad used for making brass frogs. it works great.
