fs or ft -- comet 30 series tav torque converter $50

comet torq-a-verter .. 30 series, 1" keyed shaft. it is 99% complete, it has the driver and driver back plate, the driven with a 7 tooth sprocket and both bearings for mounting it on a jack shaft, and a belt.. also will throw in a 1/2" to 1" shaft adapter that can easily be drilled out to 3/4" if you need to

it does not come with back plate or a jack shaft

it has one ding on the driven.. and it has a little oxidation and dirt that can be cleaned off in less than 5 minutes with a wire wheel... but other than that its still in good working order

im in Tacoma WA

looking to trade it for a 3/4" keyed shaft clutch and a billet connecting rod for a 5hp briggs

$50 cash + shipping

the driver is a 1" keyed shaft

yeah it comes with the belt

im also willing to throw in a vintage 5hp tecumseh flathead vert motor. it used to be a mower type wood cutter the blades can go but shipping will be crazy from how heavy they are!.. the motor turns freely but has been sitting around for years.. its no good for a kart motor but if you need extra parts for an older tecumseh, complete from the carb to the exhaust, its your with this deal

id take enough for just the clutch(that was me hoping someone had an extra rod laying around or something), but i think i can get a clutch for $30 - $45

i did find an adapter in my junk nuts and bolts box.. unfortunately its for a 1/2" keyed to a 1" keyed but it could be drilled out to 3/4" easily.. i will throw it in for free

if your serious pm me ill call the local kart shop tomorrow to try and find the cheapest one..

First can you tell me if it is 100% either 30 series or cat99, as i would probably want something i can get parts for.
Also can you weigh it for me, and measure the total size, so i could work out what shipping would be.
Then i would consider your offer.
Rob
edit: you can get a clutch here for $26
they also sell #35 clutches. That clutch would be ideal for your 5hp briggs.
you can identify the tav from this

sure mate, i understand, the simplicity of a clutch is nice, with no js to worry about, and it is cheaper and easier than setting up the tc.
i may have a friend going to usa soon, maybe you could post to her for cheaper, i will find out.
3 cam buttons means it is 20-30 years old about.
when you give me the measurements i will look into postage.
Also, if i was to get this would i need any other spares or replacements other than a back plate and jackshaft? because that would add up if i had to order some spares from america.

ok, thanks. i would just use the original and i am pretty sure i can get the belts in the uk anyway, and my 40 series belt looks like new, and i have been riding pretty hard.
it would only go on a 5.5hp anyway.

I would like to say it's quite difficult to distinguish between the CAT99 and 30 series. The only difference is that when the driver and driven are closed, their top width is 5/8". My driver is a CAT99 but my driven is a 30 series and it runs a 30 series belt with no issues so don't worry there. I'm not sure about the weight pack or garter springs though.

sorry man i was busy all day with easter stuff.. you know kids around here love that crap..

the whole package is 8.52 pounds

the driver is 1 1/2" tall x 5" wide

the driven is 6 1/4" tall and 6" wide

i could fit it all in a box about 8 inches wide and 8 inches tall, so i can fit packing material in with it..
