I want to later get a billet flywheel and I know they should be torqued to spec. I don't have a torque wrench. What I want to know is if its okay to just use an impact driver because I have seen RedBeardsGarage install a flywheel without a torque wrench. So is it necessary or can I get away with it?

A torque wrench isn't absolutely necessary but highly recommended. The flywheel bolt can be tightened with an impact, however there is no way to tell if it's torqued to the right spec. Too much torque and you might strip the nut or the crank, while too little torque may result in a sheared flywheel key. So I highly recomend that you invest in a torque wrench.
