I have a small single seat yard-kart that needs a floor pan. Would 14 gauge steel be thick enough?

Could just drill and attach from the bottom with simple pop rivets. If done right they'll be there forever and if inserted from the bottom no one will ever see them and they are very fast and very cheap. And can be removed easy enough with a proper drill bit if needed. And you don't have to drill holes all the way through both sides of the frame like using a bolt. Just another idea to add. Use aluminum rivets...steel rivets are overkill and a pain to insert or remove with inexpensive hand tools.
