i just fabricated a floorpan for my Bug Wasp go kart and when i go to hit the throttle or brakes the floor pan flexes quite a bit. Is this normal? or is there something i did wrong?
Thanks

Just out of curiosity-
Is the pan metal welded or aluminum riveted?
Thickness?
It may be older but a Bug is a race kart and it's gonna flex just like a modern race kart will.

it has tabs on the frame where you bolt it on. i made it a one piece floorpan instead of the original 2 piece floorpan hoping for more strength. not sure what thickness. its made out of pretty thin steel. the frame flexes but is it normal for the floorpan to flex?

Go to the vintagekarts.com forum and ask.
Lot of Bug owners there.
Make sure to use your real name when registering.

If it's thin metal and the pedals are simply bolted through it, that's why. If you were to "plate" the area where they bolt with another piece of sheetmetal, i bet it would improve.
