Valves float to limit rpm which would, in turn, limit valve momentum/travel. Engine simply cannot rev beyond a certain point on it's own. Only time I could envision this to be a problem would be when engine is forced to rotate beyond the floating limit...such as going down a hill with clutch locked. Even then I doubt there would be a problem. A properly loaded engine won't float the valves in any case.

Would that cause my flywheel to detonate and kill everybody within a 50-mile radius and leave a mushroom cloud and fallout everywhere?
Sorry, couldn't resist. Okay- So is there a DOWNSIDE to heavier springs in an otherwise stock engine? Could they rob a little horsepower, or would it be negligable?
