High compression can actually decrease power on a side valve engine.

Are you making it from scratch or skimming an original one?

Thanks

im sure it will make more power, its also got a lightened flywheel, custom in take manifold, custom exhaust pipe, after market carby, advanced ignition timing, was hoping to run dual plugs and a after market ignition.

In all my 4 cycle engine builds, I opt for the lighter flywheels from the vertical shaft counter parts.

my engine was originally a vertical shaft engine, i calculated it to be 212cc and in between the 5 and 6.5hp engines was slightly different to both
