So I was finally able to trade out a set of oxy/acetylene tanks that I was given. Found a good deal on some gauges/regulators and a couple of torches. So I bought some hoses and set it up. I noticed that neither the torches nor the gauges/regulators have any sort of flash arrestor/check valve on them. I remember using my father's setup a while back and am pretty sure he had flash arrestors on the torch side.
I'm looking for you guys to impart ur knowledge....Should i have the flash arrestors at the torch, at the regulators or on both ends of the hoses?

They're normally installed at the regulator end of the hoses, IIRC because they really don't like the banging around the torch end lives with day in, day out. The last set I installed at least recommended there, but that was almost 20 years ago.

I'd get both...
Flash are needed, check valves are a good assurance.
A help to add to those things, (from my welding school days) I was taut gas on/gas off...
That helps the potential for mishaps to not occure in the future.

Yes definitely doing gas on/ gas off...I remember this from when my dad 1st let me use his torch :)
