Thinking about building a challenger style rear end. Any idea on what parts ill need? I know it will involve a good amount of fabrication, but im ready to slow this project down and really get it right.

You will not find those parts anywhere. You will have to machine them. They just do not make them no more. Rare Rare and really rare. Plus Honda's splines are all of there own. So I have been told.

A company called ProATV was making those kits in the 80's. That will give you a place to start searching. "ProATV IRS Kit"

You can use buggy IRS sure. Or use the ody axle thru the trans and make the rest of it with other ody axles. I sure you can find the u-joints. The honda spline is going to be your problem. I think you could do it with a few axles though. Not sure. And to do this you have to center the reduction unit. So where would you put your engine?

They also make a IRS kit that leavs the reduction unit in stock place. I will if I can find some pics.

Think Im going to stick with the swing arm setup. This is my first buggy project, going to keep it simple. I should be back in Florida in about 4 years and will have allot more options for parts and materials. Hopefully I will be able to get a pilot then. Couldn't find any Challenger rear end kits with no suprise.

Gonna have to extend the rear frame another 8" to keep the engine as low as i want it. The 28" atv tires im gonna get will make up for the added length, and i will build the roll cage to make it look legit. The buggy will be about a foot longer than stock. If i don't extend it i will have issues with the engine being mounted high and hitting the seat and main roll cage supports. I have an end result in mind that will be functional and look cool. As far as turning radius, Im planning on putting 22+" tires on the front with 12"rims. The 400ex hubs make the front 3 1/2" wider. I will grind down the stops as long as there no rubbing issues. Im thinking the bigger sized tires will give more top end, from what ive heard 50mph is tops with the stock oddy gearbox. plenty fast enough for me...Should be good with this setup.

Im gonna have to raise the front, i want the motor to slide level for adjustment of the belt. its sitting at an angle the way it is now so the carb will be more tilted it the motors mounted level. no big deal, 15 minuts with the plasma.
