as for back on topic, I was hoping the twist throttle conversion would be easy, mechanically it is but my throttle cable does not have enough "slide" length, it needs approx 3.5 cm more, I dunno if this carb wasn't meant for twist throttle but I'm trying to figure out where to order a replacement cable as everything I'm finding matches what I have in hand

The issue is that once the twist throttle is installed, it's holding the throttle half open (see- I'm an optimist) because there is not enough length to allow the throttle body to sit all the way in the carb, and yes, I had the 2 adjustment points all the way "in"

my doggone reverse light switch showed up as broken, a little super glue and she's back together!

Needs longer cable. Design was for thumb throttle and not a twist throttle so the cable mounting and length is different too. Could buy a cable for a dirt bike as long as length is correct it would work.

the sleeve is a good length but yes, the cable it self needs to be longer, I dunno if there is a way to shorten the sleeve without removing the cable

In situations like these it's best to just measure what you need then buy the correct cable for the job. If you do try and cut the sheathing off the cable there's no guarantee on how long it will last or if it will wear out and cause the cable to get sticky. You don't want to throttle stuck wide-open! There's lots of generic/universal cables available on eBay. take a look through there. find some measurements on the sheath and the cable length and you'll be able to find what you're looking for.

got the new caliper installed, it was a #$*&^ because it was designed to go on "left hand" rather than "right hand", so the bleed screw is upside down and I have to use washers to space the caliper to align with the rotor, however it works! totally stops that rear axle
