Hi everyone, I have been reading the forum for awhile and soaking it in and decided to start my first build: an electric go kart. I think I understand almost everything I need to get started, but I have a couple questions still:

1)I want to use this motor (http://tncscooters.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=52_56&product_id=344) with this controller (http://tncscooters.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=41_74&product_id=182). Does the controller have a high enough current rating? The motor is rated for 35.6 amps and the controller for 40 amps, but I am unsure if it will be ok at peak current.

2)If they will work, what circuit breaker should I get? 40 amps?

3)If they won't work, what should I look for instead?

Thanks for any help!

research that controller some more. They dont say what the 40A rating is for . i.e. continuous, 30 sec, 1 min, etc.

Your motor is only about 1.5hp. For that power range check out the electric bike forums at endless-sphere they have tons of info for that range.
