Good morning all,
Just getting back into carts, picked up a Manco Dingo 8hp yesterday that needs some work. Got it running, brakes going etc. Found that the hub for the sprocket is cracked and worn severely. Issue is how to get this out aside from cutting it. My axle won't just drop out with the way the frame is configured and it appears to be a lot of work to attempt to slide everything off the axle to get this off and slide a new one on. Is it possible someone makes a 2 piece hub to replace this? Would make life a lot easier.

I'm working on trying to post pics on here, doesn't seem to be working at the moment. I will keep trying. Basically there is a small section of frame underneath the axle that would keep from just dropping it out. The hub, sprocket etc. Would have to be slid off either one side or the other and pull the axle out.

Welcome. I think I've seen pics of a setup like that before. I have a kart kinda like that myself where the axle is threaded through the frame. On mine disassembly is a must and yes it's a time consuming hassle.

Thanks, yes it looks like it's not going to be a fun job, the sprocket appears to be fine but the hub has seen better days. I've found 2 piece sprockets but not a 2 piece hub.

if it drops out or not doesn't really make much of a difference I'm afraid.

To refit a new sprocket hub however you need to remove the right wheel and axle bearing
I'm afraid (easier to not having to realign the brake disc )

and in order to "drop" an axle out you'd need to remove the two bearing retainers;
in order to slide it out one additional wheel and unhinge the brake caliper.
(so yeah not too much of a difference IYAM in terms of effort)

and while there are two piece hubs,
they too need to be slid on (since the second part is a taper lock )
and it's what I'd suggest you replace yours with (Mark IV vari hub)

I was looking at those yesterday, that's probably the one I'm ordering. I tried getting the wheel hub off and it didnt budge, I didn't put a whole lot of effort into that just yet, in the next day or two I'm going to take a more aggressive approach. I appreciate the help, thanks.

I've found 2 piece sprockets but not a 2 piece hub.
