I think that will work just fine, Speaker wire is just copper wire too. It is just nice cause it comes sleeved together in 2 strands and color coded for speakers red and black.

Oh and I also ordered paint for the 2nd kart. I'm going for candy apple red, with silver accents.

3 of the rims are done, not perfect but good enough.

2nd kart is done being stripped, now hung and being painted with rust reformer until new paint arrives.

Well, my air compressor arrived today. The box it came in looked terrible and I was worried they sent me a return, I'm sure they did. The motor had rust underneath the plastic housing. The gauge was cracked and gauge needle was bent. I'll be returning and picking out new box at store tomorrow. No more ordering online from harbor freight or they'll send you the scraps. We had to take oil out to return and big pieces of something were coming out. Didn't even bother running it for break in period at that point.

Picked up the red metallic flake paint that arrived at home depot today. Got to coat most of the top of kart but it started getting dark so I'll update tomorrow. I should have gotten pics of it primed.

Wow sucks about the Compressor.
My Predator 212 From HF showed up in a messed up box too. It was just from rough handling by FED EX though. The crank had put a hole in the box, and actually must have been sticking out at one point, because the end of the crank where the keyway is was slightly burred!
I have not started it yet and already removed the governor. I hope it is all ok!

Nah my box was destroyed. Missing flaps, and had a piece of cardboard taped to side as a patch. I was excited to try out some sandblasting, oh well..

Edit: swapped for a new one at the store :D also got a 2 year warranty for $50

When you're tired of waiting for slow oil.

Question, it says I must empty the tank after each use using the bottom release valve. Is that true or normal? It would have to be pressurized at beginning of each use then?

This thing is LOUD.

I like the paint so far. I cant wait to see it in the sunlight.
But I cant remember which kart that is. LOL Do you still have a blue sparkle painted one?

Yea. The blue sparkle and the candy apple are the ones that were exactly the same model and engine.

Oh and also, during the break in period the tank itself got hot. Normal? Anyone got a general DIY or tool forum?

Pretty sure that you got the carb fixed, but I had a weed eater that got bad gas for an entire summer, and gummed up its carb, my brother's push mower did the same thing, so I bought fuel stabilizer with carb cleaner, got fresh gas from another station, mixed in the stabilizer/carb cleaner, and got it to run through my weed eater, my brother's mower, we had to pull the air filter off and spray stater fluid in to the air box while using the prime bulb to push the gas through. Eventually it started to run on it's own, rough, but was running. If I didn't get greedy and add more cleaner into the gas tank itself, the mower would have been fine lol

If you run the compressor a lot, drain the water from tank every day. If it is used occasionally, drain it once a week. In humid environs, water will accumulate much faster than you'd expect, but it only accumulates when the compressor is working. You only have to clear out the water, not release all the pressure inside.

Yea the carbs are fine now, thanks.

Thank you ez, so I'll just release until there's no more water coming out. Definitely humid here, so I'll be on top of it.

Rainy morning, but I should finish painting red kart today.

Ok let's see.

Removed obnoxious stickers from compressor, and rearranged brand name for something better :D

I want to take the governors out of the (2) 5HP Tecumseh's, so I figured I'd take apart the 6HP one that isn't working yet as practice. As you can see, the governor already had teeth broken off. The inside housing of engine also had a big scratch as if the governor had already blown up against it at some point. I didn't see any parts floating around, but maybe they got dumped out with the oil, I wasn't looking. I had to just break it apart to get it off. I've ordered some gaskets and new drain plugs.

ONCE AGAIN, I need to give PB Blaster high praises. The drain plug was so tight, it was bending my Allen wrenches. I sprayed PB Blaster, waited 15 mins, still nothing - BUT - instructions say to tap and repeat if it didn't work. So I tapped it around with a hammer, resprayed, and 15 mins later it was loose. This stuff is awesome.

Finished painting the candy apple red. Just need to take it out of the booth and inspect it in the sun and do some touch ups, then I'll hit it with the clear coat.

Last pic is a 2" thick ribeye, cooked in sous vide at 131F for about 2 hours, finished in cast iron with butter, with white cheddar mac n cheese.
