I recently got a old victor torch with almost all the tips brand new. Ive never oxyacetylene welded before so I figured I'd post this up so you guys who know what your talking about could give me advice on how to improve my welds. This just a T-joint on some 2" square tubing.

Im planning on fusion welding my new shifter kart Im building but in a welding book I have, the author made a really cool looking kart that aparantly won third place in the IFK World Karting Championship race, and he brazed everything together, any input into which would make a stronger frame would be great. I know brazing technically has a higher tensile strength but Im just not sure I trust it as much.
Heres the kart.

Looks pretty darn good. Only one thing, ur weld has to be 50/50. Ur has a little more weld on the bottom piece. Go on a bit more of an angle to get more on the other one. Also u probs already no this but when welding 90s like this the bottom peice needs more heat as it will heat up slower than the vertical piece. So heat the metal together angling downwards almost on about 70 degrees so the heat reflects off the bottom peice and heats up the vertical piece. If u weld on like a 45 or lower u will heat up the vertical piece to much and not get enough penetration. Also flip ur piece around, can u see ur weld on the other side? If u can see a sort of heat pattern left in the metal it means u got good penetration. If its cracking it means ur to hot and of course if theres not pattern u dont have enough penetration. By the looks of ur swirls u were going at a nice speed so u should of got enough penetration. There not Vs there Cs so u where going at a good speed. If there Vs ur going to fast and if there big pools or holes ur going to slow.

brendon, I cant take a picture of that one because its inside the pipe but Ill do another one tomorrow on some plate so I can get a picture of the back.

tyler, Ive seen some really nice beads too, Im really liking this gas welding because its so easy to control the puddle compared to my crappy hf mig.
