First Kart

Hi everyone. Im located in SE Michigan and I just picked up a 196X Rupp Dart Kart. It has original wheels and steering and is in good shape for being so old. The kart is running an older 8hp Briggs/updraft carb with a single scrub brake on the other wheel. Looking for some info here on fixing it up as it does have its share of issues. Wow, I love those karts, vintage. Try not to mod the frame or any origional parts, would be a real shame. Looking forward to pics!!

Pics as promised. You guys like my custom floormats? lol I forgot to mention the previous owner welded some brush guards in front of the rear wheels. Thats pretty much the only major modification to the frame. The engine sits on top of a piece of sheet metal that was welded to both engine mounts.

Problems to fix:
-floorpan has a large crack right where you sit
-rear wheel hubs are shot, the whole tire/rim will move left and right causing the chain to go out of alignment
-new paint
-gas pedal needs work, very sloppy
-carb adjustment

Thats about it folks. This kart takes off fast and tops out around 40mph.
