Here is my first go kart project. I bought an older Carter yard kart and am rebuilding it. I got it home and could not get it running, so I went to Harbor Freight and bought a 6.5 Predator engine. The new engine was cheaper than the parts to fix the Briggs. I disassembled all the parts and got the frame sandblasted. Checked the frame for cracks, the 3 coats of primer and 3 coats of red paint. I have mounted the engine and cleaned and painted all of the small parts. I am waiting on some new wheels, tires and a seat cover to be delievered tomorrow.
Here are some before and during pictures.

You'll have to tell me how that engine works out. I bought one for my cart re-build as well.

I will give a report on the engine when I finish everything. I have cranked it and ran it at idle for about 1 hour to break in the engine. The instructions say to allow three hours of run time up to half speed for proper break in time.

Thanks, I just got my parts in, and i Hope to put them on this afternoon.
