Nope. Have a look at this thread I made a while ago

Ahahahahaha. That steering wheel is the worst part
Fixed that for you.

You got somewhere to drive without corners?
No- The fact that somebody admitted to building it and actually published photos is the worst part...
No, but im pretty sure i wont hit a corner. None of this "possibly". I wont. I am a good driver from practicing on my dads manual.
Hahaha.
I am a safe person, and know when something can and will probably hurt me. This kart does NOT give me that feeling. I feel the feelin of fun. Not detached testicles.

Well, on that note...I'm out. I hope you prove everyone here, who have completed several projects, many of whom work professionally as either machinists, mechanics, or welder/fabricators here wrong.

I can't begin to tell you how many flaws there are in those statements...
whoaaaaaa, first off, i never said i knew everything. Im smart enough to know im not "the best" and i dont have a big ego. All i said was, i think my cart will hold up to moderate riding. Never said i think im better than you guys. That would be foolish, therefore i never said it.
Please dont start bashing me just because of my age and statements i never stated.
Everyone, in this thread probably has a better skillset than i do. Knowledge comes with age and money sure does help.
If i dont succeed with this kart, i will openly say so. I just have always wanted to try this. After this project, regardless if its a failure or it works, I will know more helpful information for my next project, which will be a metal frame. I dont have much money at the moment, but i will save for a real kart.
Point is, im different than the majority of teenagers. Id rather build stuff, than smoke.
I read what he said, but forgot to reply. i read it this morning but ive been testing all day. I am going to consider his advice, but i dont know if i want to tear the whole thing apart. Id kinda like to see how my current setup will work. If it fails, and cracks quick like all of you are suggesting, ill go his route.Nobody's bashing you. And if I didn't make it clear, I ADMIRE young folk that are willing to try stuff! BUT-
Folks with plenty of experience are offering you "free" tips, hints, and advice- and it's pretty much all going by the wayside. Like the whole thing about turning the 2x4's on end. Did that uber-handy little nugget get used? No- and it would have had a great strength benefit.
See- that's the sort of thing I'm talking about. Instead of taking the tips for what they're worth (a LOT) you say, "I'm gonna do it my way, and if it doesn't work..." Or "It doesn't feel or look unsafe". Or "looks okay to me".
Makes me think we're all better off to sit back, shut up, and wait for the inevitable.
i appreciate all the advice. BUT, its advice, not a command. Point is, my frame as it stands feels pretty sturdy. if it didnt, i would do what Daisan76 suggested. I am not neglecting your guy's advice, but i have a choice to use it or not. Most of you guys suggest to just stop this project. which i dont want to do.All ignorant means is that you don't know. We are all ignorant of one thing or another. Stupid is something else and no one has called you that. Where you are taxing some people's patience is that you ask for advice, then apparently choose to ignore it. We aren't trying to give you a hard time, merely trying to save you some trouble. More than one of here has crashed a kart and dinged themselves up and most of us thought we were doing ok up til the crash. Your project is a short cut to the crash. As for gearing, I'd suggest something that will limit your speed to about 2 mph. That's about all your contraption will handle. Sorry if that sounds harsh but that's the best suggestion I can give you.
