Like I said before.

You can put one of those on each side, and run a solid axle,
or two on each side, and run stub axles.

... & how would he attach them to a wooden frame without compromising frame strength

There is no way to attach his axle without drilling holes in his frame.

I realise that, I was thinking that drilling holes to mount a pillow blocks will severely weaken the frame but, I just came up with a solution: Bolt the pillow block to a piece of angle then bolt the angle through the thinner section of the wood...

Of all the potential frame integrity issues, I really doubt that fastening a pillow block into each framerail is altogether that much of an issue.

Hard to say, that might weaken it more. There will be continual cyclic loading and unloading, making the bolts tear bigger holes in the wood. If you keep the main stress vertical that will only happen during cornering.

Not sure what im doing with the rear wheels setup.
Today i put the front wheels on, and they pivot on door hinges.
Not complete, but this is what it looks like so far.
BTW, the four pieces sticking up are for the seat. I plan to make it a bench.
Two things i noticed.
1. The front wheels attached to the frame like so, holds up pretty well when i stand in the middle (~100 lbs)
2. The turning radius is terrible going one way and good going the other. I am still thinking how i can improve this.

Seriously? Door hinges, really? I read this entire thread and all i can say is that I am COMPLETLY speechless! Please stop and look for a used STEEL FRAME before you really do some damage to yourself or another person!

If you read the whole thing you should have noticed i plan on getting a steel frame in a couple months.

Just wait till you see my steering setup:stir:

OP you sound as if you think this is funny, all this about actual safety. Mind you, you havent got a motor in it, so it technically hasnt actually moved anywhere yet (Im guessing even started it, the conversion).

I acknowledge that it looks extremely ghetto and poorly built. But we have tested it and it is very stable. As long as i can get it to work and not break, ill be happy regardless with how it looks.
P.S.
My friend who is helping throughout this project came up with the name Amish demo derby kart; very fitting

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!!!! Really? Wow. I am just going to sit back and enjoy this one.

Someone mentioned that this post is like the one of that Korean guy building his shed posted by Jamyers. Well, this one is actually better.

http://www.diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=21529

In a way, i am kidding. I am still trying to make it work, but when you dont spend money and improvise on everything it can look pretty wild.
That shed is terrible.

I really dont want this kart to be remebered as a huge failed attempt.
Instead i want it to be a kart that cost little to nothing, but still works.

Your definition of "works" is astounding, but I'm offended by your comment of a Amish demo derby kart.

The Amish albeit there deferent ways, take extrem pride in there work despite there lack of use of more modern tools an practices. This is what defines the as a community and why they survive today.

This kart(I use lightly as a term) is a kin to that of that shed I posted about earlier.
A death trap. Simply put.

Mods I move we lock this crap down.

I am sorry if i offended you. Did not mean any insulting purposes from that. I was simply putting that it would be safer to have this kart moved by horses than with a motor.

And yet you plan to do just that.
It's not going to work.
It will break.
The only thing not for certain is if you will get hurt.
You may get lucky and only have wasted your time.
