Ya those are what I have. My hardware store has them in all different lengths. Those are what originally were in mine aswell. Mine arent rounded like that tho but I got the same ones that were in it. They're 15 cents each here plus 15 cents for the nuts but I had nuts. I could send you some but not sure what shipping would cost. Im in Canada

I have those same ones to hold on my bearings and sprocket hub

The ones for the bearing and sprocket hub probably doesnt have a head on it these do but not rounded like the ones you posted. Its a hex or allan key tho that it takes. Try other hardware stores maybe or you should easily be able to find rounded bolts the same that take a screw driver like a square or flat head

These are bolts sprockets etc are set screws. These are fatter at the top. Split lock collars have these

I just actually tried and these ones are a bit too fat for the holes in my tabs so if I do use them I'll have to drill my tabs out a bit

So I took what i consider to be the actual plunge into what it takes to get this thing moving.Just ordered everything I need to make it a rolling chassis minus tires.That will be next once i save up the 220 its gonna cost me in tires lol.

Glad I'm going with turf tires lol. Rear rims cost me $40 tires for them $50 and I got rims with tires for the front for $24. I need to replace the bearings for the front tho. I'm finding it's costing me a lot more to rebuild my kart than it'd be to just buy a finished used one but what fun is that? Plus you'll know everything's new and not buying someone's Jimmy rigged garbage. Mine was just a chassis, pedals and steering assembly. It had no axle or bearings. I'm saving bow for hydraulic brakes. Basically that's all I need now are brakes, front bearings and to pick up my rear tires. I still need bolts here and there as well but that'll cost a few bucks at the hardware store. I'm gonna have to check a few other hardware stores tho for axle nuts. The one I went to had them but not the right thread

Got my nuts,bolts,and washers in for the floor panels! Think they look pretty good. Also got my spacers for my spindles.Kart parts i ordered should be here tomorrow or the day after!

Not sure what you're intenstions are for an engine but most clone types come with a gravity fed tank. If you use that tank you'll need a fuel pump and most likely need to drill and tap in a fitting to get a pulse for the pump altho Ive seen things you add before or after youre carb that have a pulse fitting

Ill probably mount it higher than the engine (probly on some kind of mount behind the seat) . But if i dont like how that looks or works ill just get a walbro fuel pump and a pulse fitting like u mentioned cuz ive seen those as well.

Idk if you can just do that but should work. I mean mounting on the seat. Tbh I think the tank will look odd on the seat depending on your seat but its worth a look anyhow to see how you like it. I'll post a link in a bit to the pulse fittings I was talking about if you do go that route. Would save you drilling at least

Not sure where you're from. I'm sure once Poboy is back from vacation he'll harrass you about that lol but these guys are in Canada. I wasn't sure if I was going to have to use an angled engine mount or not with my kart. If I did have to I was going to relocate my fuel tank. Otherwise with an angled mount I'd be outta gas even with the tank half full but I was considering one of these to save drilling etc. Just a suggestion maybe to look into. Later on I still may relocate my fuel tank but right now just trying to get it complete before summer

I didnt mean mount it TO the seat. Theres a little groove along the bottom of the tank that fits perfectly with the very back bar of the chassis. Im thinking sitting it on there and then using the old seat struts to hold up the other side.

Got my first order of parts in! pretty happy with what I got although i did find out some problems 1.New bearing cassete mounting holes dont match the frame. So since the old cassette had both patterns im just gonna bolt it on and then use to holes as a guide to drill out holes for the new cassette 2. I have to order longer tie rods to be able to reach from the spindle to the pitman arm. 3. Even with the spacers beetween the kingpin and spindle the play is atrocious. The spacing between the kingpin and spacers is fine. Howver theres ALOT of play between the spacer and spindle. So either the BMI karts has the wrong diameter for the kingpin bolt or Bolt Depot sent my the wrong OD spacer or their tolerance control is horrible.So i have to take the bolt and spindle into a hardware store and see if i can fix it.

Tie rods adjust. Not sure if you can adjust them enough to what you need tho. That's what I would do aswell with the cassettes. Already I'm blaming bmi for you lol. I got cassettes from them and they misguided me. I got the circular ones kinda like your original ones and they have 2 bolt patterns. Probably your bolt pattern doesnt match if maybe you went to a smaller axle?

Wouldnt matter if i went to a smaller axle. theres only 3 mounting holes on the frame.And ya..the kingpin hole is 3/4. The tie rods i have dont adjst out to that much.They are about an inch short.

I was just wondering if you went to a smaller axle and thats why the cassettes didnt line up. The template idea will work tho. I saw long nuts at my hardware store that you could probably use to extend your tie rods but you'd need a bolt and cut the head off of it or threaded rod and thread it into the tie rod then use the long nut and put the tie rod end in. Easier to just get new tie rods tho

Have you looked into Ackerman. Note the steering arms need to point to the center of the rear axle. This will drastically improve handling. You also see the Spindles are not a 90* angle with the steering arms. Problem is many that are sold and manufactured ARE.

Dammit. Im just gonna put stuff back together the way it was and hope for the best

If the Ackerman is off ill just use some flat stock welded or bolted to the new spindles..not a big deal
