Hey guys I'm new and am starting my first kart. I bought a used kart and plan on fixing it up. The first thing I want to do is replace the rear axle. It is 1in and 50in long so I can get one off of bmikarts but one of the hubs broke, where can I get a hub like this?

The engine needs some work too. It is a 12hp Tecumseh OHV. It starts up fine and will work perfect when I give it gas but dies whenever I let it idle which is a problem because I have a centrifical clutch and I have to grind the gears to get it in. I think it is something to do with the carb but I don't have very much experience with carbs, any suggestions?

Give your carb a really good clean. That is probably what the problem is

You can find a good "How to clean a carburetor" video on YouTube. Doesn't have to be a 12hp Tec. video. You'll get the idea by watching it.

Your hubs are turned down to 7/8's at the end, its a specialized thing Ken-Bar did over the years. Why do you want to replace the axle? Is it bent and can't be repaired?

To spread the connected system out and put in measurements that would make sense to the potential buyer.
Thanks, sorry I didn't know what you ment haha.
I want to replace the axle because it has a trans-axle in the middle with a forward and reverse gear. I am replacing the current engine with a atv engine with a built in gear box so I don't need the trans-axle. I'll post pictures of it tonight.

I got some pictures of rear axle. The plan is to remove the engine on it now and fix it up. It has some bad gaskets and leaks oil and some other issues. I am going to sell the engine and can probably get $200. I am going to put in an atv engine I got for free, replace the axle and bearings, and replace the brakes.
This is the axle I am looking at:

This is the brake kit

Here's some pictures of what I've got.

If I buy a 1 inch axle can I use these hubs on it, or will I need to buy new hubs?
Thanks
