Okay so update on the kart with the turf saver tires. It didn't seem to help with traction, in fact the opposite is the case. It's much easier to slide around.
I think I misunderstood your question before..
turf savers of course have LESS traction than the mudslingers;
but LESS traction (especially on soft ground) is what helps cornering a two seater live axle kart at slow speeds.
Again, the inner wheel MUST slip in order to take a corner.
that's why kids fun karts usually have rather narrow tyres at the back,
when they're not overly powerfull.
At significant speed the inner wheel can LIFT off the ground and thus have zero traction, which is how racing karts corner.
that also works on decently propelled yard karts.
Not too well on wide two seaters however (especially ot with two people seated)
So, if you want solid traction, then you MUST be very quick in corners, or the kart will understeer by an absurd amount and just push you straight into the next fence or tree.
If however you want to be able to take a corner reliably on a rather slow moving kart on soft soil,
then reducing the traction on the rear wheels is the solution.
And no, you cannot have both with a live axle!
So may I suggest you to buy a used 1" peerless 100 differential instead?
That would allow the tyres to have all traction you think you need and still enable the kart to rotate the wheels at different speeds to corner reliably.
Keep in mind that if you want a diff you need TWO rear brakes, one per wheel to also stop reliably.
