Starting my first go kart build was given a manco dominator frame was extended 8" when I got it. So far I have taken the axel out but had to cut it with a torch and use a hydraulic press to get the remainder of the axle out of the hubs. Had a custom axel made by my cousin 1 1/4 shaft shoulder in each end to 1" cut to fit the hub depth sprocket and brake key ways we're extended by an inch so I have more mounting options. Today I picked up two motors one is a techumesha 8 hp other is a Honda G400 10 hp anyone know anything about the Honda I am a Honda fan but do not know much about this motor came off a generator sorry pics won't upload from my cheap phone I will post some tomorrow

Not sure yet still has the generator windings on it haven't taken it off but I will check if it does I can just make a tapered locking sleeve for it with a key cut in it if I can get away with that I will let you know soon

I am a little confused on the Tecumseh motor is it really a tecu motor or is it a brigs it has no markings on it that I can find has a tecu exhaust but it was modded to fit the exhaust port is threaded but the exhaust on it now uses bolts to hold it tight instead of being threaded in? the intake is on the left hand side exhaust is on the right. also is the carb supposed to bolt directly to the intake port or is it supposed to have a intake pipe that the carb bolts too starting to second guess everything on this because someone had worked on it and just made things fit not properly though lots of funny things like wood screws ect... thanks guys

update

so had some time to work on the tecu motor found out that the exhaust valve was opening just before TDC by about 3 thousandths pulled the cam out and noticed the exhaust lobe had a spot that was humped up on the low side of the lobe and was causing it to open and loosing all compression. little filing and some emery cloth fixed that put it all back together started up first pull now just time to tune in the carb. the 10 hp Honda does have a tapperd shaft but that is ok I am going too build a extension with a matching taper to make it a 1" keyed shaft.
