my manco currently runs a 5hp honda, 12tooth centrifugal clutch onto a 60 rear sprocket using 35 chain. Plenty wheelspin and enough speed for our 400 ft oval track.Your gear should produce top speed if you have the track for it but might be a litte tall and hard on your clutch? I assume will also need to install a rear disk brake to your axle setup.

Probably going to go with the 60 rear sprocket for now to keep the speed reasonable for the kids. Picked up a new Honda GX200 today.

New paint on go kart engine. Nothing like spending the money on a brand new, out of the box Honda engine and painting it up to look like a cheap Harbor Freight clone. Oh well, I wanted the engine to be the same color as the kart.

Wow, that is crazy! hahahahahaha, ah well. If you ever sell the kart, and that person sells the engine, someone might get a cheap genuine honda hahahahahaha.

Not too worried about it. I have three boys that will be riding it. That engine will NEVER have the chance to move on to another owner, they'll drive this thing into the ground.

Man that's just awesome! Something I would do too!!! ha ha!!!
I'm also doing a live axle conversion...trying to decide if I can reuse the band brake setup right now...
Also would like to set up a way of changing the gear ratios using collars and keys without welding permanently...
don't know yet.

Wow, you bought yourself and expensive HF blue ;)
I would get some genuine honda stickers! BTW the paint looks nice, what is it?
That engine will last forever. I have seen some fairly old honda gx motors on thrashed power equipment, still going!

honda needs a new color scheme. red black and white? seriously? red and black i'd be ok with - but the white just makes it look cheap, or from the 60's or something...

I plan on getting a new emblem for it. I went to one "dealer" today, but they couldn't figure out how to order it and told me to go to another dealer. I'll try again next week.

The paint is Dupli-Color Metalcast Anodized Surface Color System and it's a total pain in the *** and NOT recommended! It actually looks way better in person though, it's really hard to get a good picture of it.

I agree. And the tank isn't really even white, it's a stupid cream colored white...just lame.

I don't have a problem with the red, but my kids want a blue cart and insisted the engine be blue too. This project is for the kids, so I'm going with as much of their input as I can.
